While the stock speakers are very nice, I have the base radio system, and my after market jvcs and a small 8" woofer sound much better.

JVCs are not worth tearing into the interior for.
Its like burying dog sheit. Why even dig the hole?
Now some JL components would validate the teardown.

Just add a sub! it will change everything! This box looks like it will fit almost any type of sub. and its way cheaper then the JL audio stealth box. I have one with a Kicker CVX and it hammers! It's thick fiberglass but its real light. Like 15 lbs.

I found an open box Kicker Bass Station for $94 at Best Buy. It's not going to rattle your windows, but it rounded out the sound nicely in my car.

I fit it in the same spot where the custom one above fits, and it has the amp built-in so that's all there is in the trunk. I installed it myself in about an hour (having never done anything like that before). I had to pop the back seat out, but didn't need to remove any panels inside the car to run the wires (and no wires are visible). Also the only hole I had to drill was for a place to attach the ground wire. It can use speaker-level inputs, so you just tap into the rear speaker wires for your signal, wire the ground, and run a wire up to the battery. I also ran a wire for a remote control **** for the bass, which I installed inside the center console so it's completely hidden.
