Trunk Retainer nut fix

Trunk Retainer nut fix
I saw this on a previous post and thought I would post again.
The rear trunk trim panel is held on by 4 plastic clips and 2 plastic retainer nuts. The retainer nuts eventually strip and cost about $10 each.
A more permanent fix is to use a metal coupler nut and a metal elevator bolt that can be found at Lowes or Home Depot.
The Hillman Group 2-Count 1/4-in Zinc-Plated Standard (SAE) Regular Nuts Item #: 142056 | Lowes Model #: 881650
The Hillman Group 2-Count 1/4-in to 20 x 1-in Zinc-Plated Elevator Bolts Item #: 137972 | Lowes Model #: 881003
The coupler nut will thread part of the way on the existing bolt as the bolt is metric but it holds nicely.
Total cost: $4.50
