Shaker 8" Subwoofer Details & Specs

Naaa, not like that... Oh, I also once mounted the sub in the middle of the rear seat. Then put
a 15" TomTom over of it, and to my surprise, it worked. I always have two cars, one where
I can have passengers, one, there will be no passengers... I had a 2000 Avenger ES, the back
seats never saw ***. I had a Geo Tracker for carting the kids and others. Right now, I have
a '15 Jetta TSI, the car I will use for carting people around and what not. My Mustang, though
used, will not have rear passengers...

And they are crapola! Im certain age plays into it too but man the OEM were feather weights! My new Pioneer TS-D6802R sound way better. They just highlight the muddy door subs now I ordered a second pair with baffles to install in the rear deck.
There's a thought, I wonder if your rear deck speakers are losing some volume due to being free air and under the rear deck carpet? I mean technically the fronts are also free air but you have a much smaller space behind them with a outer door to reflect sound back.

I don't have any upper deck carpeting in the trunk.
Baffling is for bass response, not volume, both are coaxial, and would have no
effect on the tweeter. The rears just aren't as loud, they're not even EVEN with
the fronts. I have the sound centered front to back, left to right, and the front
door speakers are prominent. I have to fade back four taps to even it out.
Muddy door subs? With the Shaker head unit, mine were. When I put in the Eonon
unit; lt has a separate subwoofer output level, along with the EQ, totally different now.
The bass is solid hitting, no longer muddy, like it was with the Shaker unit. It's also
louder bass, so it's the Shaker head unit that sucks. The Eonon android radio
totally woke the system up.

Dammit, don't tell me that....
I am resisting going through a complete system upgrade If I upgrade the stock HU, I will NEED to buy outboard amps to run everything (and yes, it would be a NEED).....Much money will be spent and Wifey won't be happy. I've been putting off fixing the timing cover seal leak on our 06 V6 Escape to sell it cos things keep "coming up". Damn seal will take all weekend cos it's buried and I just don't want to get it started cos then i'll have to finish it.....

All I did was upgrade the door, deck speakers, and the head unit, and I am quite
satisfied. There is an Eonon radio for Ford, with the harnesses. I got a universal,
and had to wire it all one wire at a time, manually... They're $200 or less, but with
eBay Bucks I paid $150 for mine. Mine is an Android 7.1, quad core, the 8.0+ hexa
core ones are out now.
I did not wire any additional amplifiers. I can and may amp the deck speakers, but it
is loud enough as it is, and way better sounding than the Shaker unit.

If I upgrade the HU, Like I said i will NEED to do a full upgrade. HU upgrade to me is all or nothing. That's my breaking point. Just upgrading speakers I can do without the need to upgrade anything else. If the heart of the system changes, that's it, start from scratch.
For my daughters escape I have to keep reminding myself it's her car, not mine. So speakers (a mini amp for the doors) and sub+amp for the rear.

The Eonon Head-unit is a 45 watt x 4 device, which is why it sounds good. They're
still over $200 on eBay and other places, new. SO, as I said, all I did was the
four 6x8s and the head unit.
Here is what I should have got, did not look HARD enough:
This has the OE harness adapters included for almost no splicing.
4x45W surround stereo output
