Default Inside Trunk Release

Hi all. For those who would like a inside trunk release but don't want the hassle of wiring up one. I just bought off of a Ebay seller 2 remotes for $7.05. I plan on using one with Velcro to hold it in the the center console and the other for a spare. I have a 06 base.

You can also wire a momentary switch in the glove box, or center console
and wire it to pop the trunk. But yeah, I had thought the same thing, I have
four remotes for mine, I could just Velcro one in either location.

Ford didn't install a button for the earlier s197 cars? Because even the previous generation had it (in the glovebox).

Nope, there is no trunk release button inside the car on the S197s. Not sure if you could
order them with one, but every one I have seen, does not. They're easy to wire in though.
Kits on eBay are hilariously and ignorantly over priced! You can buy a momentary switch
for < $3.00, mount and wire it. These jag-offs on eBay want $50.00 for a kit. All it is, is a
panel with the button installed in it, with wire...

REALLY? $50.00 for that? F-U!

American Muscle wants $40.00 for THIS!

Wire your own, using these instructions, with your OWN button:

Or in the glove box with your own button:

I bought the same Silver Horse Racing trunk release kit from Summit Racing for the same price.

I haven't installed it yet but I've read the instructions and it looks easy. You do wonder why Ford didn't install one from the factory, but I could say the same thing about a few other items as well. Then again, if Ford did everything right there wouldn't be anything left for us to modify!

Since you can get TWO for $6.00, you can Velcro one to the interior somewhere...
