Default will i need a tune with new gears?

i want to throw in some gears and a t-lock after my intake is installed, should i get a tune with it? Since my parents are paying for the insurance on my car i cant do anything that the company says i cant do. (which includes a tuner). can they tell if i just get a re-flash? or is there a new speedo gear that could fix the problem? would it hurt if i didnt do anything after the gears? im open to suggestions.

Short answer: Yes, you'll need a tuner if you change gears. The speedo is electronic, and that's how it has to be adjusted for such changes.

i dont think your insurance will know about anything, just your dealership may find out if you don't reset it before you bring it in for something big like if you were to need a new engine

your insurance wont know if you have a tune because you can just put it back to the stock settings, but i have had my speedometer calibrated at the dealer before here so im sure that you could just have that done. Its around $80 i think though
