Default JBA spark plug wire 8mm or 9mm?

Im thinking of getting some JBA spark plug wires but there are two choices. 8 mm & 9 mm. Doe's anyone know the difference between the two performance wise? Would it be ok to go with the 9 mm?

I'm sure it's purely cosmetic - both should offer less resistance than the stock wires.

so is it actually possible to get the 5hp gain from just having less resistance in the wires?

No. Buy them for looks, nothing else.

you can gain just a little with coil and wires. i saw an svt focus that gained 3hp at the wheels with coil, wires. there might not be that much of a gain for the v6 though-i don't know.

I have the JBA 9mm wires, and while I can't say I noticed any gains (and no I didn't do a before and after dyno just for plug wires)

The only thing I can say about the 9mm, is that they're a little hard to get to fit in the stock spark plug wire holder plastic things. I think the 8mm would fit a little better. You can't tell, it was just a bit hard to force them into the old mounting brackets.

They bright blue wires do look awful pretty in my Windveil Blue engine compartment. (doh!)

Dangit, picked up a copy of 5.0 Mustang tonight and they had an article on V6 upgrades - unfortunately they ran out of time and didn't get to dyno the JBA wires. They did get 17hp out of the JBA headers with the JBA muffler (proving how good the stock manifolds flow, IMO).

If you can get roughly 10 hp out of freely flowing muffler.. 7 hp out of headers isn't too shabby.
