Default warranty

All these posts regarding adding performance are great but doesn't changing things like air induction, exhaust modification and especially computer control void the manufacture's warranty? Have any of you had problems at the stealership with this?

Man there are 2131239812739182731 posts asking this.

It is ILLEGAL for the dealership to deny warranty work due to the presence of aftermarket parts unless they can prove that the installed part was the cause of malfunction.

That's true. I asked a guy in the parts department of my dealership if moding the car with an intake, exhaust, etc. was going to void factory warranty and he gave me a definite NO. He said that the only way it can is if, like the post before me says, the parts installed cause the problem that "would not have happened with the factory equipment on there." So no, moding the car with aftermarket stuff does not void the warranty, and if they try to stiff you on that one tell them to literally pull out the FACTORY WARRANTY and show you where it says so. It says in the book that you can modify the Intake and Exhaust.

While it might be illegal to deny warranty work, it doesn't stop them from harrassing you and making your life miserable if you need warranty work... I've heard some horror storys... However I have a very cool dealership and have never hassled me about things! LOL!
