wheel questions?
ok i have a 99 v6 stang, and i have been looking at a couple sets of rims. one setare18x9 saleen style and the others are 18x9 and 18x10 rear. is there an advantage of getting a wider rim in the back? I dont know what ones to buy. what size tires would be a good choice for an 18' rim
thank you
thank you
I recommend 18'x9's and 10's in a New Edge ('99~'04) Stang. You can go 10.5's in rear, as I have, as well.
The advantage of having wider tires is generally for appearance reasons. I prefer them for this reason as well as more contact patch on the road for improved handling in the twisties. The wider tires will cost more, but worth it to me. You may have some speedometer inaccuracy depending on overall diameter of new tires relative to existing ones, but can be corrected.
I recommend Hardcore Mustangs (site sponsor) and talk to Mickey. He can hook you up with a set of Chrome replicas (I have two sets) and are wonderful. You can run up to 275/35's up front and 315/30's out back and ride will look suwheeet

EDIT: You can go ***HERE*** to see my car in a previous post and see how they would fit on yours.

Saleen's look great for the edge. I have staggered wheels on my 06, I like the look of the deeper dish rear. Biggest problem with that setup is not being able to rotate the tires, unlike with the same size wheel setup your also thinking of. What width fronts are you looking into?
Forgot to mention that I have 1/2' spacers on my rear 10.5's seen in the above link. The thread says so, but if you just look at the pictures, you would not catch that.
Like I always tell my g/f, I don't look at the pictures...... I only read the articles
