new rims! need help choosing
well im getting a new stang,96 gt convertable black with black top.
right now i have a set of gunmetal bullitts,17x8's in front with 245's 17x9's in the back with 285's but i was thinking about going with black rims with a chrome lip.
i found a set of fr500's black with chrome lip 17X9's with 245's in front and 17x10.5 with 315's nitto drag radials.
are drag radials street legal?
i found a set of cobra 10th anniversary rims 17x9 with 275's all around.
my car is a daily driver which do you think will be a better choice? or should i just keep the rims i have now?

I will give you the same answer I give all the pepes with "what do you think would look best" questions..... It is YOUR car, so only you have to like it
Beyond that, do you like the look of fat meats MORE than the Cobra wheels? As for the DR's, they just need to be D.O.T. rated to be OK for street. You need to keep in mind, that many D.O.T. rated DR's are not so good in the wet. I am running Toyo R888's and spectacular in the dry, but would not be very comfortable driving in wet conditions. They are D.O.T. rated, but basically a racing tire. I ended up with two sets of wheels/tires so I can drive year-round and not worry about rain. All the Nitto tires are D.O.T. rated, so not an issue for legality, but one of safety if you drive in the rain.
Personally, I LOVE the 9"s & 10.5" Bullits on a dumped Stang, so you have to lower it as well
Why don't you try to Photoshop a set on your ride and see how they look with each.

Sounds good
Just take it easy for a while and get used to how they react in wet conditions. You are going wider tire and will be MORE likey to slide in water anyway.
Put up some pics when all installed
