2 Questions on Wheel Weight and Quality
I'm in love with the FR500 wheels.
1. My stock 17's weigh approx 21 lbs. The FR500's 18x9 weigh 26 - 28 lbs.
I can't afford a super light wheel, but am I going to kick myself later for increasing my wheel weight by 5-7 lbs a piece?
How much difference will I really notice?
2. Most the cheep wheels are cast. Obviously a better wheel is forged, but how big an issue is the quality of a cast wheel as far as cracking or other failure? Will they hold up over time?

The odds of you being able to actually tell the difference in weight of wheels, is EXTREMELY low. It is true that the weight will effectively increase due to rotational mass issues, but unless you are VERY in tune with your car via LOTS and LOTS of racing experience, you aren't going to notice.
The biggest difference I typically see is quality of chrome finish. Cheaper import wheels will usually not hold up as well in this reguard.
