Default 05+ wheels on a 01 need help!

I have an 01 GT and I have been running 05+ 18X9 Saleen replicas with 255/35/18 and have had no problems until this weekend. I installed coilovers and now the wheel slightly bumps up against the spring. My question is what size spacer to people run up front to make 05+ wheels look normal? Would a 1/4" be enough? And where is a good place to get spacers?

Thanks!

I would not go over a 1/4" spacer unless you confirm you have long enough lugs to support them. The industry standard is thread engagement of at least the diameter of the lug-bolt. In your case, this would be 1/2" to be considered safe. Personally, I like to see a bit more, but I do very aggressive driving on closed courses.

The actual off-set differential between the SN95 and the S197, is about 5/8". That said, you have been running them and if they don't rub, you don't have a problem. I would start by taking the lugs off and placing something that is 1/4" thick AS A TEST ONLY AND NOT TO DRIVE and see how many threads engage. This will likely clear your CO's, but remains to be seen if this is enough to clear your springs and still be enough to be safe. My guess is it will.

You lost me here. The coilovers are the springs...I know you know that so you must mean something else that im missing. I did however get a 1/4" spacer this afternoon and it did the trick. No rubbing!

Another question for you. I have a real noisy rattling in the front suspension that ive had before the coilovers. I changed the ball joints, put on a bumpsteer and the coilovers this weekend. Could it be the CC plates i have? They look kinda cheap and there is no type of bushing in them like i have seen on other "name brand" CC plates.

Oops.. did a bit of rambling there

I have a pretty bad cold and my nugbone is not too clear, sorry. I meant to say enough to clear your fenders and seems as though it does

I have heard some complaints of noisy CC plates, but have no experience with those other than Griggs. I have since upgraded to SLA and no longer even have CC plates. Sounds like you need to do a bit more looking around, I'm afraid.
