Out of round tires??
I have had a shake in the front end of my car that the tire shop can't seem to eliminate with a wheel balance. They have balanced off the car and a fine tine balance on the car. Finally they say the problem is the RH front is out of round. I jacked the car up yesterday and used a micrometer with a spring loaded pointer. The RH is out 55 thousands. The LF is out 30 thousand. [Wrapped 2 layers of duct take around the tire at the center tread to provide a smooth surface to measure from]
There is virtually no side to side movement. It is all up and down which you can actually see in the RH tire as it rotates.
Is this amount excessive?

Ok,
A couple items you should do.
1. Assure the tires both have a lateral and radial runout under .028. Do this with the Hunter GSP9700 machine.
2. On the same Hunter machine, make sure your tires have a roadforce under 30lbs.
3. When balancing do a smart match which lines up the high and low points of the tire and wheel.
It will probably cost you around $40 to dismount it then remount it correct. all tires are not perfect and very few wheels are. Hope this helps.
