EGR, Rough Idle and Stalling
I have a 2006 Mustang V6. Last year the car stalled a few times. Eventually the idle became rough and the gas mileage began to suffer.
A mechanic who had done work on my car in the past but worked far from where I am located, told me that it was the O2 Valves (which he replaced) and an EGR which he advised me to get because they were supposedly in back order.
I finally got a Ford Dealership in another town to sell me a new EGR part number 5R3E-9Y456-DA. My existing EGR is the same model number with only a minor difference: its CA instead of DA. Dealership advised that the part was the same.
Another mechanic close to my location installed the new EGR. However the rough idle continued and a times it misfires. I am taking it for further test runs tomorrow. However if things don't change I am going to have to contact this mechanic.
Any suggestions as to why this problem (rough idle/intermittent misfire) is continuing assuming that the first mechanic was right?
Any help would be appreciated.

Scan keeps returning O2 sensors and EGR as the source of the rumbling and intermittent misfires.
The Check Engine light disappeared but appeared again today.
Next thing that I'm considering changing are the ignition coils.
