I have an automatic 04 and I know if you put it in first, itll stay in first...

as for the taking off in second, idk if it starts in 1st and goes to 2nd or if it is in 2nd the whole time, Ive never really paid attention to it

now for a racing aspect...my best times are leaving it in drive with OD off...turn off the TC and dont smash the gas, press the gas pedal down quickly...if you jus gun it, youll just spin...

I am in the process of ordering rims and tires for the car and was just curious about how people launch with an everyday auto trans to get the best performance.
