Time to change struts/shocks, recommendations?

haha.
Well one of the reasons I switched from Japanese sports cars to a Mustang was that I was tired of car designed for smooth japanese roads. In south Louisiana the roads are TERRIBLE, and I'd always noticed that american cars road a little better on our roads.
So that's actually one of the things I like about the Mustang, no bottoming out all of the time and "gronching" on everything. Besides I think the stance of the new edge Mustangs actually looks really good on them. Granted I haven't done a lot of hard cornering in the Mustang (like I used to in my Miata) but for being a much bigger and heavier car it seems to still handle pretty good, even at the stock ride height.

You were a Miata enthusiast--I drove them for 8 years or so--here's my Miata website...
I agree and understand 100% your pragmatic approach to ride height. My '03 GT is lowered only 1-1/4" up front and 1-1/2" in the rear, and I have to come to nearly a complete stop at "average" height speed bumps--and there are certain residential streets I cannot traverse as they installed those 3ft wide 4" high rubber blocks in the roadway.
Then there's the need to deal with vast quantities of rain that makes getting into and out of some malls/etc. an engineering challenge.
My brother has his '99 GT slammed at over 2-1/2" drop--it a PITA to drive anywhere that has speed bumps...
