Default tranny temp gauge

how do you install a transmission temperature gauge???? its for an auto 5.0......1991

it has a sensor that you tap into the tranny pan. You can get one that works with power or one that works without power.

it's best to buy a aluminum pan that has the boss for the sending unit....the fluid in the pan wouldn't give you the real temp of the trans but will get you close

so just taping a hole in the tranny pan will give me an close to accurate reading? thats all im worried about ......i would just drain the fluid, remove the pan and tap a hole then clean the shavings, replace pan and fill up with tranny fluid right??

you could use the drain plug hole if it has one..or like you said but will need a nut on the inside of the pan to keep leaks at bay...just lack weld it then use some expoxy

what about oil temp? would that be the same thing? use a drain plug??
