couple questions
Hey guys,
I have a 1994 gt and I just ordered my 3.73's and i was wondering if it is worth it to also have a rebuild kit installed for the rear end? My car only has 57,000 miles on it so ... ???? and i was also wondering if anyone has had any luck in finding rear tail pipe brackets? i've looked and can't find any...my passenger side one is bent and makes the righ tip look funky! and i know positraction is a chevy thing but should i get that as well for my car? is it worth the $$? thanks a bunch guys

RE: couple questions
if ur rear end is showing no signs of failure why would you rebuild it? what kind of mods do you have? if you have the funds, you could beef up your rear end to handle more hp i.e. 31 splines, but if ur talking about just rebuilding it to stock specs, i don't see the point. i would just go to a muffler shop and have them fix your exhaust bracket, or if you have a hammer and about 5 minutes of time, do it yourself.

RE: couple questions
i gotta disagree kinda with the above.if its all apart why not just to be safe..my buddies started goin at like 75..mine was worn enuf to the point of one leggers sometimes...its only 50 bucks for the stock rebuild.or i think 100 for the carbonfiber plates...and it only takes like 10 minutes..cheap insurance i guess ...id rather do it while its apart the first time rather than have to take it all out later..

RE: couple questions
I did mine when I regeared. Only 62,000 miles on it, but when you consider doing it while the stuff is apart as opposed to having to have someone tear everything down again (not cheap)... rebuild the junk. And for as far as posi-trac goes... yes, it's just a Chevy thing. Rather, it's a Chevy name. Ford calls it Traction-Lok, and you have one. That's the main reason to rebuild right there. That stuff wears out faster than a rearend will start showing problems.
