Default picked up mustang and cant figure out problems

hi guys i picked up a 95 mustang gt 5.0 this fall. i have been having problems with it since i got it. first off it kept stalling at a idle and reving up on its own while idling. i replaced the following parts on it: iac valve, cap coil rotor plugs wires pretty much all ignition parts. also cleaned the maf sensor. all the car has on it is a xpipe and thats it. now it still idles up to about 1200 when started and if you let it idle for about 4 to min it wil idle rough pretty much like its loping. most of the time it will do that lope and then die. i have a check engine light on most of the time but always goes off and sometimes just keeps flashing. heres the real question though. we plugged a snapon modus into it and its not reading any power to run the codes. the plug on the passenger side isnt getting any power but all the wires look good. there is no blown fuses or anything. i reall want to get it running right and im not sure if its even the right computer in the car. my next step was to put a turbo kit on it but need to get this figured out first. thanks for any advise in advance.

i replaced all the vacuum lines that i know of. it also revs up when you push in the clutch to shift unlike most cars that idle down. i dont really get it. i work on diesels for a living so these cars arent my specialty haha

I hate to throw parts at cars trying to figure out what is wrong. I had an 88 that did pretty much the same thing. I changed about every sensor you could think of and still idle issues and no power. Turns out that it was my computer. I replaced it from Autozone for like 75.00. Never had a problem after that.

If you tried sticking the scan tool on the port under the dash.....of course its not gonna work. the thing isn't wired up to work on the 94/95.....

Frogman's right, might be a good bet to just replace the computer cause it sounds like a crapped out tune. Get one and it'll be better for you in the long run cause even if that's not the problem, it's gonna be alot easier to tune CORRECTLY!
