Take heads apart or not?
I just got a new set of patriot freedom heads for my 5.0 and I'm wondering if I should disassemble them and clean or are they ready to slap on now? I personally think I should but guys are telling me not to mess around and just slap them on....what do you Guys do with a brand new set of heads?

Have I ever used them? No! i wouldn't even bolt those things onto my ex-wifes car. I got a chance to get a very good up and personal with a set at the machine shop I deal with. The casting flaws alone made me want to puke.
so take your attitude somewhere else.

I wasnt trying to be a dick I just hate when people **** on others stuff when the hater has never even used the parts in question...actually the casting quality was on par with the edelbrocks I've seen...obviously they aren't afr heads but the patriots basically copied the afr design...the flaws you saw could of just been heads that slipped past quality control (which shouldn't happen bc they are such a small company)...anyway I'll post some pics so people can see they are a good budget option...I got them for $850 shipped to my door fully assembled...that's better than any e7 or gt40 set of heads any day...we'll see...

I take ANY heads apart no matter who made them and inspect the valve job for one thing.
Also clean them very well.
You'd be surprised at what I've found in 'new' heads from makers that are somewhat up the food chain from the one's you just got.........
