Default what are the biggest rims that'll fit a '65-'66 mustang w/out spacers

It doesn't seem like any rims will fit on '65-'66 mustangs that aren't tiny. Right now we have steel '83 ranger wheels with hub caps and i just can't stand them anymore. My brother just got a great deal on some '94 mustang rims (16x8) and they hit the upper ball joint and the tie rod end. but his front set of welds do fit (for his insane '92) but they're only 3 inches wide. Does anyone know for sure what size rims will fit with no adapters or spacers? or know where spacers don't cost an arm and a leg thanks for any help.

thanks for the links that answers everything i needed. and the car is my uncles '66. he has some '73 Mach I rims he wants to put on but he wants to get it painted first and i don't see that happening anytime soon but after a little incident involving a deer this past Saturday when i was driving it, i think he will get it painted. I thought about taking the wheels off my '65, which are magnum 500's with like new tires on them just so they won't go bad on me (mine needs a trunk welded on, literally) but thanks again for the help.
