Default 2006 Hot Rod power tour.

OK I read in the new issue of Hot Rod that the power tour's final leg in 2006 will be from Harrisburg PA to Englishtown NJ on June 8th. My goal is to at some point do the whole tour and be a memeber of the long haul gang. However, I still have a lot that I want to do before I feel my 72 is ready for the whole tour, but since that final leg goes almost right through my neck of the woods, I thought I would give it a shot. So I am planning on it, anyone else planning on next year's tour?

I did the 2005 Power Tour. I joined them in Nashville and drove to Kissimee. I blew sheared the shear pin in the distributor about 50 miles out side kissimee. There are a lot of great people that do it and they stop and help. Clutchl on this forum, helped out a lot getting the car timed.

I am planning on diving the 2006 Power Tour Next year. I would like to get a group of mustangs together to drive in a convoy on the route. I think that would be great fun to watch folks faces as 10 or so mustangs go by. I have a 73 Mach 1 and I drove on one leg with a 2004 Mach 1. We go some good looks.

Hope to see you there.

I'm hoping to do the entire tour... depends on how much cash I can save up. At a minimum I'll be doing a stop or two.

Do everything you can to make your car reliable. No matter what, when the tour is over, you're on your own to get home

I'll jump in on a caravan Jrrhd73must... hope to see you down there next year!

C!

Do you just join them, or do you have to register with someone?

Anyone can just jump in if they want. If you wanted to park with them, you must register... Full trip costs $50.00 and I believe if you just want a couple of stops it's $25.00. Driving with the pack is totally free.

Thanks Clutch. I just may have to do that now that I will be retiring in December.
Here's another similar tour from Kali to Ohio if anybody is interested.

Cool, I hope that there will be more jumping on this as it gets closer. I have a lot to get done over the winter to get ready.

One saving grace for next years run, is that it is going through Perry GA. I live right near there, so we will have access to my garage - tools, and my buddies. I also know the restaurants and hotels. So when anyone gets ready to make reservations, I will be happy to provide suggestions. Also, when it gets near, hopefully we will have the forum Mustangs all hook up to drive together. I am going to start in Kissimme and I am not exactly sure where I will jump off, or if I am going to finish it.
