Question 65 Mustang Power steering malfunction

Hi, I am a new member and my newly rebuilt 65 mustang is having the following power steering malfunctions:
1. It turns to the left with functioning power steering, but when I turn to the right it does not work.
2. When I turn to the right the power steering starts squealing extremely loud.
3. The power steering belt is shaking like crazy when this happens and moderately shakes when idling.

This happened after I pulled out of a parking slot and heard a loud pop.

What can I do about this and what has happened?

replace the belt and tighten to specs. There should only be two bolts and you should be able to rotate the pwr steering unit enough to get it off depending how many accessories you have: AC, etc. If the belt is frayed or cracked it should be replaced. If its just loose, check you bolts and rotate the reservoir outward to tighten the belt. Use a small bar to help with leverage. tighten the bolts when you have aprox 1/2" of play up/down in the belt.
