Just a thought but I think Ford is going to have to step it up a notch

Trevman hit the nail on the head. The reason GM dumped the Carmaro was " THEY DIDN"T SELL " GM was losing their butts on them for years but still kept them around to compete in the mid sized sports car. The Ford Mustang was out selling the Camero 2-1. Another thing their body changes were always subtle, not like the mustang, who lets face it, stayed a step ahead. The Mustang even though there are alot of them around, its the kind of car you don't get sick of because they have so many lines front, sides and rear. The Camaro could never compete with the Mustang in sales, never will, plus consider the Mustang history and tradition. thats right I am a blow hard Mustang GT owner and proud of it.

I think GM made a bad left with the 4th gen f-body. It was not a big hit with girls, and they buy a loof the v-6 cars. If the Camaro comes back, and the Challenger, they will have to have a very good base model if they exspect them to do well.

As for new "retros" the Mustang is a hit and the Dodge Challenger is almost a carbon copy of the 71. But the Camaro concept is butt ugly! You show pics of all 3 to someone , and ask what they are. I'm sure you'll get 2 answers right away!

Ford needs to put the 5.4 in a Mustang . A Boss or a Mach or something.Even if Gm falls on their face, Dodge will have a rear wheel drive pony car.

Ford IS putting the 5.4 liter engine in a Mustang......the 2007 GT 500. I think it is basically a slightly detuned version of the engine in the Ford GT. Supercharged 5.4L with around 450 HP and 485+ Lbs of torque. A real screamer! Correct me if I am wrong, but I swear Ford is getting more HP per cu in than any other American manufacturer. Their 5.4L Ford GT will run with any car built today in the world. No V10's or V12's here, just good old American V8 grunt!
