Default 96 Mustang 6cyl Auto ~45000 miles

I may be looking at one of these cars for my wife in the next few days. Seller says the car has been off the road for 2 years. Is there anything in general I should be looking out for if I get to go to see it? Any inherent problems for this year Mustang?

I have the exact same car, but it's a vert. the head gaskets usually go around 100k. I have the original engine from mine sitting in my garage due to a spun bearing..

They(FORD) did, thats why he(stang562) said early 96's, which means, early production 96's still had the issue like the 94's and 5's.

I want to see it before I buy it, as it has not been on the road in 2 years. The serpentine belt and pully has been replaced. Plus it needs tires and a battery.

What kind of gas mileage do these get?

Nice car, but not nearly what I'm looking at price wise, plus it's a manual. She refuses to drive a manual.....

They're pretty good on gas, as long as you keep your foot out of it.I averaged about 16-18 city and nearly 30 on the highway.
