All you really need to get your ’90s on is your Gin Blossoms CD in this Craigslist find.

As is tradition, we’ve been browsing Craigslist ads again, looking for project cars we’ll never have space or time for, let alone buy. This one, spotted on Craigslist in Akron, Ohio, is a compelling choice.

This 1996 Mustang GT is among the first to come with the 2V 4.6L Modular V8. Here, it’s paired with an automatic transmission. While many of the 5.0 cars from 1994 and 1995 could be ordered with some very wild color combos, the Mod motor changeover seemed to suck the fun out of the color palette.

Thankfully, 1996 was still rife with some amazing colors. Such as Mystic on the Cobra — the world’s first color-shifting paint job on a production car, as well as Tangerine on the GT. This purple made an appearance, as well. And this particular example is as nineties as it gets with a white convertible top and interior.

This car would be so incredible if it were in good shape. But it seems that the years have been unkind to this GT, as indicated by its inexpensive selling price. This Mustang will require a lot of work to set right again. But its wild color combo might make that a worthwhile proposition to someone.

The seller claims that it’s a Floridian car. The sun-baked paint and yellowed headlights would lead you to believe it sat outside. The top seems to be in okay condition, though. But the seat covers imply that the car may have spent a lot of time outside with its top down, and the white leather seats paid the price.

Bizarrely, the seller is offering it with contemporary Probe GT wheels for $2,200, with the original 16″ GT wheels requiring an additional investment of $300. If you’re looking to relive the days of Seinfeld and Crash Bandicoot, you can find the ad on Akron Craigslist.
