Three Hot Mustangs Prepare to Cross Auction Block

Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast auction poised to be another hot draw for collectors.
Mustangs are certainly no strangers at Barrett-Jackson auctions.
You need look no further than some past posts here at Mustang Forums for proof of that. And yet, we never grow tired of hearing about cars bearing the iconic American nameplate that are revving up to cross the block at another one of the car auction house’s impressive events.
Take, for example, these three Mustangs preparing to cross the block at Barrett Jackson’s Northeast auction being held June 21 – 24, as highlighted in an Automobile report.

One of the most coveted in the pack will likely be the 1966 Shelby GT350-H. One of only 59 models, the Ivy Green ’66 Shelby GT350-H Fastback is a Mustang fan’s dream. Apparently, the car (lot #665.1) was fully restored back in 2010, and features almost all of its original sheet metal, as well as the original framed fiberglass hood. It does, however, feature a few period-correct replacement parts including Hertz wheels, Ford Carlite glass, and a restored Cobra tachometer.

Another classic model that is sure to have collectors on edge is this 1970 Boss 429 (lot #650). Just rolling out of a full restoration this year, the classic Grabber Blue Mustang features all original panels and a 375-horsepower 429 cubic-inch V8 paired with a 4-speed Toploader manual transmission.

Other features on the ’70 Boss include a Drag Pack, Convenience Group, and Décor Group. It also comes with documentation that includes three copies of the original window sticker, a Deluxe Marti Report, and an MCA judging sheet from the MCA Concours, where it scored an impressive 994 out of 1,000.

Last on the list is the first RTR Mustang prototype, sure to be a popular pick among more modern Mustang fans. The high-performance spin on the Ford pony car (lot #658) features a carbon-fiber body, a 550-horsepower Coyote engine, as well as a number of other performance parts like Autosport Dynamics rear control arms.
Let’s be honest, though, whether you’re a classic or contemporary Mustang fan, any three of these would be welcomed additions to your pony car collection.
