Sylvania Silverstar Bulbs For Headlamps & Fogs
"Silverstar High Performance Lighting: The Whiter and Brighter Halogen"
Are the models H13ST and 9145ST still considered the best non-blue replacement bulbs?
I am looking for a brighter, more crisp/pure white light. I'm not into blue or gold colors.
And I don't think I want the ULTRA's.
$19.99 a piece at Advance Auto Parts seems to be the place to purchase them?
Installation of the bulbs for the fog lights require removal of the black plastic radiator cover?
If so, what would you recommend using to carefully remove the plastic snaps?
Thanks!

THose are the best and brightest non blue bulbs you can buy. I have the 9145ST bulbs in my fogs and they are alot brighter than stock. Only problem is they are not blue like the OEM HID headlights I have so it doesn't look right. I was worried about buying blue bulbs as some have said it melts the housings. So I played it safe.

I put the ultras on my 08, parked next to my buddy with stock lights, it's noticably brighter. All you need to remove the pins is your fingers, they pop right out. Took me no time once I figured out what I was doing.

I have the standard Silverstars in my SUV and love them and just received the Ultras for it. My understanding is that you CAN'T GET the Ultras for the Stang's headlights. Regardless, I'm planning on Silverstars for the Stang's headlights.
As far as for the fog lights, you're going in the wrong direction temperature (color) wise. IF you intend on using them as fogs, I recommend Hella Yellowstars or something equivalent. They truly excel in providing contrast in really crappy weather. The standard bulbs are too cool and reflect back too much light. Remember, the fog light's reflector puts down a short, narrow beam. They're not meant to be driving lights. And warmer lamps don't reflect light back at you as much as cooler lamps.

Last year, I put in Silver Star H13 ST headlights, 9145 ST foglights on my '07. I don't remember if I took off the radiator cover, but I'm sure I didn't have to remove the lamp enclosures.
I've been pretty happy with them, no problems. I can't remember why I decided not to get the Ultra's - I think I just picked up the wrong one at the store, and I got a bargain on them so I didn't return them. At any rate, I'll upgrade to Ultras if one of headlamps ever goes.
