Is it possible to take it the faux gas cap paint the chrome part black and put it back on...hows it come off?...its the pony tribar in the middle with teh chrome on the outside.

I believe most people just take a flat head screwdriver and a towel on the car and pry it off, carefully. But I like buying things (if thy are cheap!) and trying it on tat piece first before doing it on the car. And if it turns out perfect on the piece, then its easy to take off the one on the car, and buy new double sided tape and put it back on. But being that these things are just plastic coated with a chrome like finish, they are easily scuffed with steel wool, and then primed and painted.
