Default Sequential help!

I purchased a sequential tailight kit back in 05' when i bought my stang... Over the past few years I've had to replace a few bulbs from time to time, as to be expected.

About a week ago, I noticed I had a light out on the passenger side, as always, took out the tail light assembly, replaced bulb, and hooked it all back up and nothing happend. When you turn on my parking lights it lights up fine, right turn signal... it doesn't work.

Is it time to purchase a new sequential kit?? in 05' I got it for 50 bucks.. now they're 100-150.

I would try another bulb in case the one you installed is defective. Inspect the wiring harness for a cut in the wire, also look exposed or pinched wire. If this doesn't resolve your issue then contact the manufacturer regarding their warranty and replacement policy. I purchased mine from Webelectric and they have a limited lifetime warranty on them. Good luck.

I had a similar symptom on my meter4it kit. I contacted the seller. He walked me through the re-boot up procedure and all was well.

Whats the brand of these $50 sequentials?
Plug n Play or wire it in yourself.
Did you use IDC connectors or 'scotchlocks'
as some call them. If so, thats your problem.
Rewire the non-working side and solder/heatshrink
the connections.
Or a pinched wire?

The 50 dollar kit was a kit that I bought off ebay back in october of 2005 like a few days after purchasing my car, the harness had to be wired into the tailight.

I've tryed 3 or 4 new bulbs with no result, so next would be just to check all of the connections and see if there is an exposed wire or damaged wire.

It's a long shot but I've had issues on mine that was simply a dirty connector. After you determine that your wiring is up to snuff and the lamps are all 100%, hit every connector with contact cleaner.

Yeah probably I got what I paid for. They have lasted a good while though.

I will try the contact cleaner... I just can't make myself give 100.00 - 150.00 for a new set.

Another question... I have the blackout tail light covers from American Muscle. Was wondering if there was a spray on product or something that i can use to black out my tail lights??

The covers don't perfectly and I was just looking at getting rid of them.

Good way to hide your question and hijack the post at the same time.
Search 'blackout taillights in the S197 section for all the answers....
