There are a few variants...
If you're going red, it'll be more than $5K for the simple reason that red paint costs 2 to 3 times more than any other color.
A pint of Dupont Chromabase in red is about $70 but $30 in black.
To do a whole car with jambs, trunk area and under hood, you'll need a gallon of base coat.
Now, for the engine bay, there is no way to do a good job without yanking the engine out and all the cr@p that's bolted on the aprons etc...
Talk about labor cost here...
If you start with a black car, you can get away with leaving it black under the hood.
Any other color will look too funky if it remains untouched.
