How far are you from the US border?
The prices went up since most of us have done the conversion but not only you won't get hit with the 13% sale tax, the parts will be cheaper in the US regardless.
Check E-bay and see if you can strike some deals.
BTW, $500 for a used GT500 hood isn't really a good deal, since they're available from FRPP for a little over $600. Unless you were talking about 500 Canadian...

Anyway, the GT500 hood on a GT doesn't flow at all because the pillar of the GT bumper won't match the indentations of the Cobra hood and on a light color car like yours, it will be an eye sore.
The picture provided by Shella doesn't really show it but if that hood was painted, it'd be obvious.
