new hood?

Now, the imitation stuff is just like fiberglass, they just use a dark cloth in it with a lot of resin instead of gelcoat.
That's why you have to clear them so they don't turn yellow.
So in the end, it's like a fiberglass hood...

well, i got to say, I LIKE! The total price ended up being 400 for paint and prep. Now I will note the shade is ever so slightly off. You have to really get down and get the light to reflect to notice the hood is a hair lighter. Hence why they said they would normaly do it with the hood on the car and blend the fenders and such. Asking them to do it the way they did, it might as be mail order painted. Given that, i have to say I am very impressed. My mom doesnt want to mess with it now, she figures durring next spring she will bring it back and have them go at it and do the blending. So close that for now, she doesnt really care.
we were all amazed with the quality of the truefiber, the edges were nice and straight, and the finish came out very good, with little effort, so either we got lucky, or they greatly improved quality control.
Also, dealer would do the hood pins, something about aftermarket saftey device blah blah blah, whatever, thats why there not in, were gonna do em tonight or tommorow.

I'm just glad it turned out as good as it did at that price too. I member on the IMBOC forum (Bullitt forum) actualy posted something I feel is kind of interesting.
The diffrence in hood to fender is about the same as this.
This is a Stock Bumper to stock rear quarter.
Either way, we know its not BIG but you can see a diffrence and it draws the eye to it in certain lights or at certain angles. Next spring she is just gonna have them blend it to the fenders / bumper and call it a day.
