Wow I'm so glad I posted this question... Alot of concerns that I didnt even think about were brought up especially the crash safety concern... I found that one rather interesting... But I also find myself thinking... What are the chances that I will get a flat... And what are the chances that someone will rear end me... I dont know if I wantt to live my life so negatively... I might just take the chance and leave my spare at home and have someone bring it to me if i need it and put a sub/amp in that wheel well...

I always hated those spares. When I get a new set of tires in the future, I will be saving one of the tires for a spare.

ORIGINAL: Wicked Pony

Or get those fancy schmancy run flats! LOL.

My boyfriend has an 05 Saleen and that's the first thing he did was take out the spare. It does make the car lighter.
I myself would keep the spare, even if I had 20" rims.
I was just thinking as we were swapping over factory wheels to chrome wheels on an 06 vette just now with the Runflats.

Runflat tires a alot heavier. And we know what unsprung weight does to 1/4 mile times! Not that you would want to be running 3-400 dollar tires on the track.
