Rezalien , PLEASE take your car out to the same place and put it through a few of them 90 deg turns. I would like to know what it has to start with. I think you also NEED to know to ask this question!
I am very curious what you can do.

I'm actually planning on doing that, or something similar...quite honestly it will be difficult to do it in MY car, rather than someone elses (hey it's the truth), but if I take my time and build up safely, without just thrashing it right away, I can compare the differences...
and hopefully everyone understands here that the title *Is there ANY hope!!!!!???* is just a bit OVERstated.
I love my stang and although I'm mechanically inclined and have worked on cars all my life...I've NEVER messed with a vehicles suspension...it's just never been a priority.I'll be looking into the Saleen and Roush setups suggested here on this post, thanks!

Don't take it the wrong way - I wasn't being a jerk. It's just my opinion. If I didn't like the car, I wouldn't own it. It just doesn't IMPRESS me - that's all. Bear in mind too, that I sold an 02 carrera cabrio for my stang so I'm used to handling that makes the BMW fall short, ya know? I still have never owned or even driven a car that handles better than the porsche. And I love our stangs, obviously, but I don't see the point in trying to make them great handling road cars IMO. I love them for what they are and sure you can upgrade your suspension and make your handling better - but they are always going to fall short if you compare them to cars engineered for handling (like the BMW for one) ya know? So specifically, NO - you can't get your stang to match the handling of the BMW IMO.

you know i have nothing but the utmost respect for you but i have to disagree with you here.
i believe it easily achievable to make the handling of the cars not only equal to machines such as porsche, bmw, etc.. but far better. Now with that said i have spent nearly $4000.00 on my suspension and will probably spend another $1500.00 before i am all done but my car is built for the road course as opposed to killers car being built for the drag strip.
i have driven plenty of fast cars and the boxster S is probably the tightest handling car ive ever driven, probably the best handling porsche ive ever driven, now with that said i have not had the opportunity to drive the new cayman but i hope to one day as they are supposed to be ridiculous with their handling.
and as far as building your car to handle well, if thats what you like then do it. you can outperform the 5 series with just a few thousand underneath and you will still be a better buy than that bimmer.
consider this, the other car i was looking at buying was a new M3. my mustang handles (now) every bit as good as that m3 if not better, and its way faster..

start building up that underneath and you'll be amazed and how well these things can handle...they wouldnt have won the grand am series this past year if they couldnt handle
I just put 275/40 proxes TR1's on mine on some 18" rims. Then I put on the Eibach pro kit. I am still a little way from Tokico struts/dampers as well as the rest of the suspense mods but I'll get there soon. I will say this though, it is now a completely different beast. It already handles x2 what it did stock. Lower and very sticky. I love it. my 2cents...
My car handles like a slot car and will outhandle just about anything short of a lotus elise. It can and does easily take 90 degree turns at 40 Mph and doesn't break loose at all here are a list of my mods:
Steeda Ultra light springs
Steeda swaybars fronta and rear (with beefed up steeda and Granatelli connectors)
Steeda adjustable third link.
BMR Adjustable Panhard rod
Metco Aluminum lower Control Arms
Tokico Adjustable shocks
BF Goodrich 255/45/18 KDW 2's front, BF Goodrich 295/35/18hrome BulletsKDW 2's rear on C
In short $4000 buys you BMW+ handling. Be sure to get the adjustable shocks, their expensive but absolutely necessary to fine tune a livable ride!
I also have an intercooled Vortech, aluminum 1 piece driveshaft, Jba longtube headers with h-pipe with high flow cats, magnaflows, Granatelli Throttle Body, Granatelli Coil on plug connectors. B&M shifter. I'm turning 500 plus BHP and 470 lbs torque and I feel capable of racing any streetcar made. Mustang 30K with tax Mods installed and tuning 20k, For 50k I have a car that can kick any BMW's ***. Oh and by the way the car is dynamatted in the trunk and doors and has a solid european car sound and feel from the inside. God Bless America,

nah i hear ya bro, but thats not a bimmer and not a carrera 2

carrera 4 ive never driven (i would like to) but i have been in a twin turbo (didnt drive it though) and its all wheel drive but i still think the boxster S felt way more confident...now im talking about the S version, not the stock.
and its the cayman, not the cayenne (SUV) that is supposed to be Great. i drove into the porsche dealership the other day, they had a brand new black one sitting out front but they were closed so i couldnt get in it and test it but damn a sweet looking car in person, i think it was road and track that recorded their best slalom time ever with the new cayman
http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/cayman/
but i hear ya, porsches are great handling cars dont get me wrong ultimate respect theres a huge porsche club at a roadcourse near me and they make even mediocre drivers look good
check out that cayman if you get a chance, and the S version of course
