Hot Lights!!!!
Hey has anyone else had the issue of the black reflector that is inside each of the headlights blistering the black paint off and also melting the glue that holds the reflector???? Every used 05 Mustang that I have looked at has this issue - especially if you do alot of night driving. Some are worst than others.
If so take it back to your dealership. As I am writing this my dealership is replacing both headlights - that is the entire light assembly.
In fact, they were checking the lights on all of their brand new 06s and they were noticing the blistering starting to happen. You have to look really close inside the headlight. Evidently the stock bulbs are too hot and too close to this reflector. My dealership service manager stated that he has seen this type bulbs on other Ford cars melt the metal inside the lights. He thinks it is a design flaw in the reflector and especially the paint they used to spray the reflector. The black is just not working at this point.
So if you are still inside warranty, check your lights everyone!!!
There is no TSB for this - yet!!!
Sorry I do not have a pic of this before they came and picked up my car at work today. Trust me - these reflectors are flawed.
PS- No I did not put in any high intensity bulbs!
