Pioneer AVIC in a 05 Mustang?

When you remove the shaker there is a big plug of wires, then a small plug. The small plug controls the amp turn on, etc. You put the resistor on the amp trigger. I believe it's because the Ford amp is expecting about 4 or 5V and the Pioneer sends 12v.

I suck at soldering, and never got it done. I broke the first one (they cost like $0.85) trying to solder it while sitting in the car, gave up after buying the second one. So far I'm not missing it but I don't crank it often

I'm waiting until I receive this headlight-flash bypass I found to purchase the unit, but I downloaded the manual to bring myself up to speed on the install process, and I've got a question- on the mustang, where is the pink, car speed signal input? It says in the install guide that the positions vary based on the model of the car, but that you need to have it hooked up in order to keep track of the car... Where is this input located?
Thanks,
Jake
