Default RE: I'm Buying a GT -- questions

ORIGINAL: daydark

I'm about to buy a Vert GT, and I have access to use Ford's X-Plan. I went to my local dealership here in Conroe Texas (Gullo Ford) and got a quote on a fully loaded GT which was $34,900, and $32,153 with the X-Plan. This seems really high to me. 05RoushGT said that he got his Roush for 33k with the X-Plan.

Is there a better way for me to get a good deal on my car? I would love to get a Roush, but I thought they would be too expensive. Any suggestions you can give would be very helpful!

P.S: I'm paying cash.
Under X-Plan pricing, the dealer is required to show you the invoice, which has the X-Plan price printed right on it, simply at you asking to see it. They HAVE to show it to you, and cannot refuse.

I had to order my '06 GT convertible (this was in Sept. of '05), so my dealer wouldn't cut me much of a deal. I got it for MSRP +$750 ($31K total) with the IUP and the Shaker 500. Worth every penny and then some!
