Transmission choice question and a mini-rant

RE: Transmission choice question and a mini-rant
Your dealer is full of it. The auto is an option (for nearly $1k), the manual is standard equipment, and I don't believe for one minute that only 5% of the stangs out there have manuals. I have yet to even SEE an auto personally, except for the rentals at Hertz. As far as what to get, get what YOU like best. The GT's make excellent power eitehr way, from what I've heard and read on this forum. It seems like a lot of the racers prefer them. I ordered a manual because I always drive manuals, but it is a genuine PITA in heavy traffic. I think manuals are more fun and have a better feel, but I'm biased. Whichever you choose, you're still going to be driving the coolest muscle car currently available. Enjoy.

I have the auto and it's the best I have ever drove. Because of an accident I can't drive a manual and riding in myGT I have begun to truly miss the control you have over a car with a manual.

the reason for the holdout on sticks(I'm 99% sure) is that tremec simply cannot produce enough of them currently to meet demand. hot 'commodity' items last winter were IUP/4.6L/Sticks...put all 3 into a dealer order, it eats up three of their allocated items, so that delaying 2 more units till next allocation period.
edit: one last thing- if you think you want the stick, wait for it- its a blast!
