I hate mudflaps- but hate damage worse...I drove mine thru the winter(dry salty days, not in slush/snow) and in ohio, winter= salt/gravel/disintegrated asphalt everywhere...I put a big dorky set on the back, with a even bigger 'hidden' set up in the rear fenderwells, then a cheep flat set up front(not much room up front). heres a pic of the front mounting- I used the rocker pegs to hold them on- like a 3.00 set from autozone, sheared about 1" off the bottom, bent back about 45 deg in a brake...they will still rub on a big pothole(only ever rubbed once) but really kept the door/rockers clean...I took them off in the spring, but will be putting back on this winter if I drive it again. the second pic gives idea of how they look on the car- yuck, yeah, but I just had to do something...actually I may end up getting the ford ones even for the summer, as the rear still gets tar and crap all over it (to me the ford ones are not low enough for winter use- still sprays some up into the rear bumper...but dont look nearly as bad and still offer pretty good protection). hate them, but kinda a necessary evil...

maybe consider the hidden inner ones still- stone chips to the undercoating might not show as bad, but do even more harm long term...they really cut down on the 'tink-tink' noise of stones banging off the wheelwell.

I meant to pick up a contoured rear set at the dealer saturday, but forgot- maybe I'll run down there tonight...like the look without them, but already getting paint damaged...spinning tires is a no-no unless you pick gravel out of treads first

Yeah, I think overall, the appearance (provided I stick with the molded splashguards made for an '05/'06 V6) truly won't be a negative. At least when considering the protection and my future (and current) driving conditions. Now I just have to wait until the ~$30 I just spent on a "Ford Mustang Parking Only - All Others Will Be Towed" sign for the garage has been forgotten by the fiance... hehe!

Here's the "ZenStang" on our new country property - weekend getaway spot, project spot and future retirement spot even. Now I think you can see why I am considering the splashguards...

Hey.. and for those ever interested in the rain deflectors (a.k.a. "eyelashes")... This photo was taken after I made my sig which includes a "just off the lot" photo of the car with no deflectors, etc.

LOL.... Not sure that mud flaps/splashguards could really make a Mustang look redneck. But if someone ever mounts a set of steer's horns on their's as a hood ornament, please post a pic! [8D]

Redneck? Ha ha ha.
The guards aren't redneck at all.
Maybe the flaps, which look horrendous, could be considered redneck.
Now if these spashguards had Yosemite Sam on them, then I could see the whole redneck thing.
To each his own though.
I've never been one to judge a person by the color of their neck.

OOOoops....didn't mean to offend anyone. But, IMO mudflaps are "Redneck".... a better solution is to use
the clear bra material on the areas behind the wheels, it stops chipping and is very easy to clean. It is invisible
so there is not even a "hint" of redneck or Western Auto, JC Whitney, or PEP Boys "tack" on accessories... and your investment is well protected....
