A mod I bet you haven't seen yet!
I just put these mods on my car and thought you might be interested to see them. They are available through st motorsports for $500.

Thanks. I thought $500 was a little pricey but the ford chrome look-a-like covers are $450 on ebay so I figured these were unique enough for the extra $$$. They look really nice in person.

I do hope they are TRUE Carbon Fiber.. otherwise they are NOT going to hold up for very long under the heat our engines create. and even then, Carbon Fiber will eventually "dry" so to speak from constant heat exposure and WILL crack the exterior finish.
Althought I like the look - I don't think I'll be going that direction considering I don't believe they will hold up.

True professor - they are a 'twill' overlay. How they will hold up without cracking - time will tell. The reason for the cost is the labor that goes into the valve covers. There's so many nooks and crannies on them they have to be completely sanded and prepped prior to the overlay. Took him a couple hours to do the cover and 5 days to do the valve covers. I'll find out how they hold up.

I much rather have the covers that are painted Ford Corporate Blue. Thats what this retro pony needs. Blue in the engine compartment. When I receive my OEM plenum cover, I'm painting the words "Powered by Ford" corporate blue. Then the valve covers (cam covers I know..but I'm old)

if you want a real carbon look you could simply take the factory valve covers and vaccum bag them with some pre-peg carbonfiber. You would have to cut the pieces to aprox. size and lay them in but it would be real and look as such. you just need to rember to bake them at a higher them than the max temp. that they will see under the hood. I have a v6 and am thinking about doing this or having some head mating flanges and cam clearance arches cnc'd and welding up a custom pair of aluminum covers. They are more "low tech" than the carbon fiber but then so is the mustang.

I can't see spending that kind of cash and then burying it under all those wires...
Keeping it simple, like the idea of Ford Blue, sounds the way to go. But even then it's one of the last mods that need to be done.
