Um, most states have some sort of program where you can take a driver improvement class, I know here in Florida we do, Ive had friends that have done it. What happens is when you go to pay your ticket, you can elect to take a class or fight the ticket or just pay for it. If you choose to take the class, they lower your ticket price a bit and then you have 90 days to take the class and prove to them that you passed. Once thats done, they remove all the points off your license and it keeps your record clean. After thats done no one will ever be able to even find out that you had a ticket, there will be no points, or any record of a ticket.. clean slate for you. Helps alot with insurance companies.. because they never even find out about the ticket, which keeps your rates the same.

I have a feeling you'll "crap your pants" again once the Judge levys the fine and points after hearing that lame tale of woe! "The Judge will crap his pants when you add the part about "I need a clean record in order to get this job I applied for". LOL man, I'm actually hurting a rib cage muscle laughing at that story. Maryland is like the headquarters for the "***** of Traffic violations". And you got nailed for playing dodge with a herd of school buses? On the first day of school ? I see "Napoleon Dynamite pulling you into town" in the very near future.

The ONLY chance you have is to go to court and maybe the cop won't show up. Sometimes if that happens, they will throw it out. Otherwise, your screwed.

Yea, cmon mr. responsible 16 year old driver. [&:]
+1

First, he forgets about his myspace burnout video ... trying to BS us with claims that he takes care of his car and drives responsibly.

Then, he gets a ticket for 50+ in a 35 a day later.

I say ... go in front of the judge with the lame sob story. But, please ... have someone record the look on your face when the magistrate slaps you across the face with a healthy dose of reality ... :-)

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Pay the man you're guilty. Consider it an expensive life lesson.

Get a laywer. Your insurance will be outrageous (even more) if you get it on your driving record. I know in WA one of my friends who is 16 just got one taken off his record by a lawyer. My other friend has gotten 4 tickets in the last 2 years and has all of them beat.

Ouch. I can only imagine what your insurance rates will be once that ticket gets reported. 16 yr old male driving a brand new Mustang GT with 2 points on his license. Not trying to add insult to injury, but that has to be pretty close to a "worst case" as far as premiums are concerned.

Definately look into taking that driving class if it will help keep those rates down.
