I had this problem with my 06 GT and the dealership said it was due to an open spot in the seal in between the black piece of window trim, they said the water ran down the inside of the window into the door and behind the fuse panel...I am not quite sure if it fixed the problem cuz this happened right before the car was put into storage but they replaced all the carpet in the car for free but im about to give them a call and have them take a second look.

My 07 GT has leaked since they day I bought it new. Every time it rains, their is the water in the passenger foot well. I've had in the dealership 3 times and they still have not been able to fix it. They said they would have to call Ford on this one.

Water leaking from hole for main wiring harness above junction box pass side found where it was leaking from by taking out carpet and taking off right front fender. upon further investigation found water leaking from cowel pin seat had to install new right front cowel pin slots ced seats with clear silicone. reinstalled cowel and water tested again leak had stopped.after water test test drove vehicle and found another area where water was leaking from. found a lot of water running between door and rocker panel and was not draining out. had to order door weather stripping, window weather stripping new pass side cowel and cowel pins, hood padding, weather strip for pass mirror new door panel moisture pad and retainers for pass and driver door installed all new parts and water tested agin no leaks and also road tested. found no leaks after road test. reinstalled all panels carpet and seats. vehicle would only leak if vehicle was moving and when applying brakes. pulled pass door panel off and ck how water was running in behind door panel and to see what else was happening.

Default 2006 MUSTANG passenger side water leak

This is so easy! 2006 Mustang Passenger Side Water Leak

We got tons of rain this week and water started pouring in under the passenger side dash of my 2006 Mustang. I freaked! So I check with Ford they say the leaves and dirt clogged the system and they estimate $500 to fix it. No way... so I googled the problem and find out lots of 05s and 06s have the same problem. Someone suggests pulling off the wiper blades and the cowling to clean out the trash.
So I go for it and after spending 2 hours trying to pull the wiper arms off without a wiper blade puller I go buy one for $12.95. They pop right off with the right tool... duh!
So now I get it all off and I see all the water between the cowling area and the firewall. I reach down and find the rubber grommet on the passenger side, pull it out and all the water drains!! Did the same on the other side. I check the two grommets and they are filled with small debris from the road and trees, I washed them and and put them aside for the moment, I checked the air flow filter which was still in good shape.

I put the rubber grommets back and that's when I notice they are sticking out of the firewall housing a couple of inches! All I really had to do was stick my finger or a short stick up the bottom of the grommets and it would have cleared them.

So if you have water coming in the passenger side of your mustang just open the hood, look at the firewall about 14" down from the top and just right of the battery holder and look for the small rubber boot, it has a thin slit in the bottom of it. Just clear it with your finger and the water will rush out. Do the same on the other side and all the water will be gone. Shop vac the carpet and run the car heater for a while to clear up the water. By the way the dealer who wanted the $500 was Maroone Ford in Fort Lauderdale, what a bunch of crooks!

My story begins about a year and a half ago when I found my 2006 Ford Mustang Gt

I Kept the car covered at all times when not driven since it was not my daily driver. After a year I started to put a few more miles on it and use it as my daily driver over the summer. This means driving through the rain and that is when the leaking problem started for me. Started noticing a mold smell very slight at first and eventually getting to the point where I could not drive the car. Lifted the carpet to find the dreaded water leak. After researching online and finding out this problem is quite common I felt abused. I have spent hours and hours tracking down where this water is coming in from and I finally have the answer. How to fix it?? I don't know. Unfortunately since my car is an 06 it is now 3 months out of warranty and will not be fixed by Ford. So now I sit here frustrated and can only hope Ford Motor Company issues a recall and fixes this problem for everyone. Enough ranting, here is where I have found the water coming in from.

As stated in the pictures I have fixed one of the leaking issues with silicone above the door. I have no idea how to fix the other two issues. I love this car, but with severe allergies I cannot even enjoy it any longer.. Anyone have any ideas?? Will Ford finally take a stand and fix this issue or alienate the only remaining customers they have left?

Thank you for reading! lol
