I got a pair of Winter Force for the wifes Pony Pkg Stang. I already test fitted the 16' steel wheels. And no problems. 4 would be better, but not worth the extra cost to me. I have driven for years. With only 2 rear snow tires. And never had any problems.

Should be fine. I just know that with studs the car will go when other rear drives will just sit and churn. ...not sure about availability/legality these days however.

When my wife got her MIATA, the first snow showed we HAD to do something-the car being so light. We put BLIZZAKS on all 4 corners and the difference was amazying. Still not a Jeep, but a whole lot better. From what I've been told, if you just put winter tires on the back and your regular tires on the front, the car will handle so poorly it will be unsafe to drive. The winter tires have such soft sidewalls and exibit a lot of squirm that along with the stiff performance tires on the front it a really bad idea to go with just rears. A word to the wise---

I picked up a set of bullitt takeoffs from ebay, and mounted some Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW'3 snow tires.
traction was awesome. I almost wish the dragstrip was open in the winter for Test n tune snow tires, lol. I think I would have won.

17" is better than the 18" inthe snow because its a narrower tire.(stock 18 vs stock 17 size)
Also 17" snow tire considerably cheaper than 18"s, helped off set the cost of the ebay wheels.

+ not needing to change over tires twice a year and paying for that, and chancing getting scratces on the wheels from young punk tire buster.

I manage a Goodyear store so I do all my mounting/balancing changeovers myself so I dont get banged up rims.
