Tach Adapter on 05+

RE: Tach Adapter on 05+
In a way yes. What ever your using, it acts as the ground of the relay. So before 3000 rpm and after say 6000 rpm the ground is not "connected". When you hit 3000 rpm, the window switch finishes connecting the ground and then when it hits 6000 again, it "disconnects" the gound again

I have asked the same question three different ways and still don't have the answer. I was thinking about jumping off one of the coil packs, because I know people have their Raptors set up like that

if the signal is clean, then I do not see why it would not work off the coil pack. Since the coil fires once every revolution, it should be an easy signal to use.

That will not work because you need a signal that gets sent to ALL the coils. Now if you have the raptor, you can change the settings to one cylinder, which means it can run off of 1 coil. You can buy window switches that attach to one coil and you do the same on that. Set it to one or it's already set to one from factory. I sent an email to PEP and this is what he wrote back to me. I don't understand it, maybe someone can figure it out for me. lol
We don't support the install of our product on the 2005 and newer mustangs. However, they do work, as we just got an email the other day explaining how it was installed and it's below:
I just finished installing the tach adapter to my '05 Mustang GT.
Hooking up to the positive side of the crank sensor worked like a
charm. The wire is black with a pink stripe and is located at PCM pin
47. I tapped in at the wiring harness where it runs in between #1 and
#2 coils. Just strip the tape back and fish for the wires in a blue
shield. Remove the shield and use a thin wire tap (the ones that come
with MSD window switches work great as there is not much room) to tie
into the black/pink wire. Be sure to tape the sensor wires back
together with the bare wire located in the sleeve seperately before
taping up the harness. I did this in about 15 minutes and it worked
great. I mounted the adapter with two sided tape on the passenger strut
tower. I grounded it to the rear PCM mounting bolt and got power from
the fuse box inside the car as there weren't any open switched power
sources in the underhood power distribution box. An add-a-circuit
worked great for that.

Witch window switch are you using? I have the Zex and it has 3 different settings on how to read the fire signal. I think? Their tech line was, how can you say, ummmm less than helpfull. I will try to call again today because they are usually spot on with their tech advice.
