If the sound is coming from the same speaker that does the door chimes, seatbelt chimes, etc. then it is located in the instrument cluster. It must be integrated into the circuit board, because the Ford manual states that if the seatbelt chime isn't working, the instrument cluster must be replaced.

All of the chimes are controlled by the computer, so it's probably a piezo device attached to the instrument cluster circuit board. Which also makes me wonder if it could be reprogrammed to emit custom sounds....

That blinker is the definition of "old school." Gotta love the "klack...klack... klack... klack..."

LOL..... It's in the cluster.......you can't change it......... But can you live with it????? I can understand this issue SOMEWHAT but, situations like this prove that people will always find a disappointing quality about their vehicles. Get this, my buddy buys a 60,000 benz (cheap c series) and then wants to trade it in when he realizes that the a/c seats cannot be temperature controlled. "It's nice not having hot leather seats in the summer, but my butt gets too cold after a few minutes".. GOD FORBID YOUR BUT GET COLD! once you get an inch, you want a mile.... but at least this is technically an NVH issue and not a luxury item for your sake!

hey, not everyone in this country "stops suddenly and turns without using their turn signal"- a LOT of (mostly elderly) folks use the WRONG turn signal too....;-)

I like it because it keeps me from driving with the blinker on. Some people get in a hurry, lik emyself, and just forget about it. I do hate it when I follow people for 20 - 30 minutes driving home from work with their blinker on. Now I hear it, and turn it off.

I just love the irony in the folks who say the flasher's too loud, but yet can't find it.

All of my cars have blinker warning tones to tell me that it is still on. It's called "MY Wife", and it goes "Hey , turn your damn blinker off". That's what 25 years of working offshore in high noise areas and Deer Hunting will do for you.
