My hood was shaking on the drivers side.Open the hood and the driver side stop was shorter than the passenger side.Twisted the stop til it matched the passenger side and shaking has stopped.

Hi xbone - hood pins are A solution but should not be necessary on a new stock hood. Also, not all new Mustangs have this problem so it is not a design issue - otherwise everyone would have the problem. Shelby hoods were not the hoods that came with the normal stock production Mustang so that is probably why hood pins were used.Hood pins are always recommended for aftermarket or non-stock hoods. I personnaly feel it is a defect in some cars and do not feel like I have to drill into my new hood to fix it. Thanks.

I think the only true "fix" is for a service tech to drive every car they sell and make adjustments as needed. Like I said in the other post, the hood stops are adjusted at the plant when the vehicle is in a stationary position (no wind). The stops are adjustible and anyone can adjust them. If you don't feel comfortible then take the car into the dealer.I guarantee there is no difference in hoods betweenone stock05/06Mustang and another. The onlydifference is the adjustment of the hood stops.

Not saying there is a difference in the hood - but there must be some difference in the adjustments, assembly, fit, part, etc. so that this happens in some cars and not others. Some on the thread(s) indicated the stopper adjustment helped some but not completely. This is why TSBs are issued - they don't all occur in every car but enough to be a concern. Like you have posted before, you think the leak problem can be diagnosed by a possible trend in the VIN. I give you credit for this effort and it is helping a lot of us. It is not a possible safety issue like the hood though... Thanks.

adjust, test drive, adjust, test driveand againand and again. if you adjusted it right it shouldn't move if driving under 65mph. if it does at 110mph, (at the tracks, of course) use the pins. +1 Xbone, isn't that why we own mustangs?

can you really let the ford tech drive your car over 65 mph just to seeyour hood shake like that??think again.

Do you have a link to that post? I'm not saying it didn't happen, but a lot of BS is said on the net.

The hood shaking is a common (and dangerous) problem. I have read on this forum of the hood flying off and causing a lot of damage. Take it to the dealer immediately - just do not tell them you were going more than 80mph... Hood pins are NOT the answer - this is a very dangerous defect that Ford needs to acknowledge and fix. Good luck.
