Default Air/Fuel Ratio

Finally got around to installing my Innovate Wideband on my 06 w/ JLT CAI and SCT xcal 2 tune. At wot it is 11.5, a little rich dont ya say? What should it be NA? Thanks

I'm no expert, but at WOT it's a good idea to be richer than it normally is under partial throttle. That said, I noticed on my SCT XCal2 tuner that fuel/air mixture can be enriched or leaned out. If you have such a tuner you could adjust it to your liking. Be careful about leaning it out too much, though. Better to waste a little fuel and give up a few horsepower than to burn up your engine.

I did the adjusting w/ my 04 and the car actually worked against the change. I leaned it out and it got richer. But back to this car.11.5 NA is way to rich, mid 12's to low 13 is good. But I just took it out again and it was high 12's, low 13's. A lot of change for some reason. The best thing I can do to get an accurate ratio, is hook up the wideband software and get it on the laptop. So it can graph it out. I'll do that this week and stay off WOT

Nice to have that ability. I'd be interested to hear what you learn from monitoring it. Let us know what you come up with.

im not claiming to be an expert, but i'm pretty sure that's not really gonna help you in your driveway so much. You need to have the car on a dyno to measure it under a load.

My long awaited (since last June) Cobalt wideband A/F ratio gauge is finally on the way!
On the dyno, my car was adjusted flat at 12:1 2500-redline. I'll let you know if my gauge is anywhere close. Of course that was summer and had a probe in the tailpipe, whereas I'm going to have a bung welded in near the stock O2 sensor.

Reading this, no wisecracks about the probe in the tailpipe or anything related to bung...
