I also think it's gotta be lighter than the stock one, considering that it's made out of CF.

Im not too worried about performance... I got a V6 cause i like the style of the pony package and the gas mileage, with a little performance on the side... I will be adding small things to get more out of the engine such as tune and CAI, soI am not a total ricer... Some looks, Some power...

Yeah, CF would be nice and light. $960 though! Ouch.

Nice site!

The guy at CarFX told me that at 85 mph there was 300psi pushing up on the hood. Not sure though.

I was under the impression that the aluminum Saleen hood was actually lighter than the stock GT hood.

As forcf hoods, has anyone had problems with excessive shake/movement at high speeds (100+ mph)? Saleen tried a cf or composite hood on the '05 supercharged models and it just wouldn't stay put at high speeds, so they replaced it in '06 with an aluminum version.

My 06 gt mustang hood is aluminum. But ford has forgot to brace the hood for real life driving. A little cross wind the hood becomes unstable. The middle of the will raise or flop, just to release the air pressure. And if you pass trucks or any other larger car hood just the bouncing with turbulent air pressure. I have ask ford about bracing for the hoods. They told me they never heard of this problem. I drive the I-95 and everybody drive 85+ mph . But some old people still have to drive 45 mph on 65 mph speed limit orhave av6 and small drive the shoulder.I drive this couple times weekly I just have a bad hood flop or raise for air pressure. I am good deal with till warranty run out. Or the hood blows off , brake off or just fly away. Then put a tear drop hood the old school fix for mustang air flow. I ask ford to fix to the noise to the steering, Ford Dealer told me they can not duplicate steering problems that I had. But struts nut broke off the wheel run down the road with the strut and spring. They have no answer just they can't duplicate. Same thing with this hood, they can't duplicate and don't want to test ride on a windy day.
