Depending on the paint shop and how reputable they are, they should suggest painting the entire "area" to properly match. If the hood is scratched then the entire hood normally gets repainted. If they do not suggest paiting the entire area then I would move on to another shop.

These cars attract debree dont they?....Last year when heading down to the woodward dream cruise in the 05 ( the few times we ever drive it ) we were driving down 24 mile and a guy driving his lawnmower tractor flung a wad of grass/dirt and it nailed the windsheild...( like 30 feet man ) and i moved my head to the side...reflexes...luckaly it didnt crack or scratch anything just left a muddy smudge on the windsheild...

We ended up cleaning it at woodward but seriously with all these stories these cars seem to attract debree
