Quick question for everyone
Isn't the Cobalt SS the "replacement" for the SRT4? They kinda look the same... Cheep HP in a cheep body?
That being said, nice of you to find some stuff out for your friend. How can he afford a new car but not a computer though?
And why was it necesary to mention what you drive?
I'm not being a pain, I am genuinly curious...

Its your car bro, my main point was most of the fake gt500 boys...The GT500 isn't a mean looking car IMHO, It doesn't look like a muscle car to me...now the roush does, well more than. The respect factor of a 500+ hp motor is all it does for me. The design looks like a stock 4.0 stang with the air diffusers in the rear and smaller flood lamps in the front bumper. Body kits don't seperate you from the pack yet performance does. Older guys like me respect lets say cams and full exhaustover a different front cap. JMO

First off all, who said he was putting the Cobra Emblem on? And who said he was trying to play it off as a gt500?
Second, The reason I'm getting a body kit is because.
1) They look really good. Well most.
and
2) When I am just going to a friends house. I'll see at least 10 maybe 15 cars just like mine. I want it to be unique.
Nobody says "whoa! look at that mustang! that looks so cool!" like they did in 04-05. They are everywhere now...

I don't get most of the bodykit guys, especially the fake cobra bodykit guys...People will ask (once your buddy puts the "snake" badge on) "is that a cobra" and your buddy opens the car door with the cloth seats and absent nav system and says "ya, its a shelby gt500"

1+ Who cares if you put the emblems on the car anyway. If that is the look you want than go for it. I have a body kit to pay tribute to the movie car the "Eleanor". I think of it as a modern retro version of the 67-68 GT500. I do have the Cobra emblems and my name is "mygt500". I know it is a 06 GT but if making a tribute car or clone than I want it to be as close to the idea of what the car should look like and also to set myself apart from the rest mustang community. I get mixed responses about the car but I really could care less..its my coin and my dream. I couldn't justify paying 55,000-70,000 dollars or more for a "Real GT500" so I made mine and the performance will be close once the S/C is done and the HP is about 450 RWHP. When I am done with the car it will be a reliable, street, drag car that I use for show. I dont claim it to be a shelby gt 500 and when asked I tell people what it truly is....an custom and modded 06 GT to resemble the GT500! Hey thats JMO.Oh total cost of car after S/C, rear suspension mods, front big brake kit, body kit, rims, tires and everything painted......a hair over 48,000 dollars...that is a better price than an GT500 unless you get it at MSRP (which no one usually gets).
